Whoa, Up a lot from this weekend. Holy Holidays!

Had a good time though. Rode bikes real hard until the rains came. It is also cold. I honestly think our weight gain in wintertime is a natural response to the effects of the weather and cold. Instinct, biology, what have you.

Son is out of school for break, so I took them out to eat and ate junk food, then had cookies, then more snack later. It was basically a 3 day long cheat day this weekend for sure.

I read an article on how to fight off the weight gain this holiday season. It is real hard not to throw in the towel and say "I'll fix it in January!". It is real hard! But, I know the hard work that it took to get here.

So, I hope to continue my journey, albeit much harder over the holidays. I just hope I can keep cycling. This wind, rain, and temps in the 60's is just crazy! lol

Anyway, have a nice day y'all!

No weight in today, its too late!

Thursday (Which is middle easts Friday, at least here) I took wife and daughter out to dinner. Then we had a few (dozen) cocktails. It just seemed appropriate at the time of year, and the day. In a way it makes sense as then my hangover hits on cheat day (this is key!) so I can eat what I want! XD. Problem is, that bike ride on early Friday! lol.

Overate Thurs night, and all day Friday, but I did work out super hard this week.

Did 23 miles in hellacious winds at a fast pace. Entire body was sore. Good news, cold weather gear (tights & jacket) worked out super! Plus I think I look good in them!

Today, did 16 miles, also in heavy heavy winds. The whole way home was like a hill climb.

Good thing I have a cycling partner on weekends, or I probably would have skipped both days.

I had a talk with him about increasing distance, and he was down. That is how we did 23 on Fridays. We will gradually increase Fridays up to higher levels. He was being cocky last night and wanted to go for 23 again today, which with the wind is out of the question (It was the whiskey talking).

Talk about emotional eating! I found out some bad news yesterday in regards to ANOTHER transfer out of the desert! Anyway, looks like I wont be going anywhere soon, at least until contract termination end of next year (2013). No biggie. It is the 3rd time I have tried to transfer out. I am more than qualified. I guess the money to move me and my family is an obstacle for the company.

I am essentially an indentured servant because the company has paid for my schooling. Not too big of a deal, I mean I have gotten a lot of tuition lately. The rules say I have to stick around a few years. Unless we lose the contract...

But I ate a big lunch at Mac Grill, one of their little pizza's. Planned on a very lite dinner (that's how I roll). Got the bad news in the afternoon, kind of like a mind-f**k. And then went home and was gonna hit the local pub, but wifey was not down with my "Lets go get drunk!" plans. So, I had a frittata (Thanks Jess, I make these ALL the time now) on a pita like a breakfast pizza (only 2 eggs). Then some nilla wafers with peanut butter and nuttella dipping sauce.

Body feels good, soreness getting gone. I was supposed to ride the bike last night but it was gale force winds (literally), so I stayed in!

I was thinking at the stove about emotional eating. I mean some people shoot heroin, some drink, some smoke. Doing SOMETHING over emotions is essentially normal. You may scream, you may put you hands in your pants, but it is a normal healthy reaction. Anyway, I am ok with what happened, and my weight today, and even... my job today. XD

I finished! I finished my paper last night at 10PM.

Left work to write it, so I ate a nice healthy lunch, took a nap, rode my bike, and then wrote my paper.

Bike ride was great, there was little wind and the weather was hot. I knew we are heading for some windy and bad weather shortly so I was itching to do. Had a flat on the 1st half of the ride.

Had a protein shake for din din. I had some snacks before that I needed to compensate for. Plus I was not hungry after my ride. I am learning not to daydream about the post-ride meal the whole time, and that really helps with the appetite. It is almost as if I get worked up over that meal. If I stand back and think about it, maybe I am not so hungry.

Helped the kids make dinner. Pasta and some beef we had around. Made them chop up onions tiny (they "dont like" onions but they eat them). And spice it up. I remember when I was 16-18 it was Mac & Cheese and a sandwich, or a steak & a potato. My kids are the same, no imagination or creativity in the kitchen. They cannot see through all our healthy foods to make a meal, so they always think we are "out of food!". When in fact we are not.

Anyway, Have a great day y'all!
