Performance: losing 21.8 lb a week

Goal Weight

Still to go: 123.0 lb
I've been obese since before I was a year old and have lost and gained literally hundreds of pounds over my lifetime. I easily lost more than 100 pounds in 2003-2004 controlling my carbs, then I got pregnant and had a son(a true blessing since for years I thought I'd never have a child). Lots of stress and changes and depression over the last six years and I've gained lots of weight.

I do suffer from chronic debilitating back pain and my mobility is limited because of it. Losing weight before did not improve it but maybe this time it will. I also have insulin resistance and pcos so controlling my carb levels helps to control my insulin levels.

With the help of God, my depression has been lifted and I feel more hopeful than I have for 3 or 4 years. So now I am going to be better at looking after me.

Bacon!!!
I cooked my green beans with bacon tonight and my son said they were the best green beans he's ever had (in all of his five years of life lol).

Eating out? Think about it!
I keep thinking about this post. There's one line that I keep coming back to in my mind - "the very act/process of eating is disgusting". I've never thought to categorize it that way and don't find it disgusting. I've only seen a statement like that on one other sort of web site. Everything I start to say sounds "preachy and presumptive" and I really don't want to come off that way. So, basically, I just want to say I hope you develop a love for eating foods that are healthy for your body and perhaps, with time, you can shift your focus when eating out from the act of it to enjoying the company of those you are with.

Eating out? Think about it!
Right now I only eat out about 4 times a year and the only thing I don't like about it is my fear that people will stare at me because of my size. I thoroughly enjoy the experience otherwise, especially not having to wash the dishes and not having to worry about what to do with leftovers Smile

Damage control any ideas on how to help my daughter?
It doesn't matter what "everyone knows". It was insensitive and thoughtless of the teacher. It would have been just as thoughtless if everyone had to count their zits and there was one person in the class who obviously had a very bad case of acne and was teased when his/her number was put on the board. It would have been just as thoughtless if they had to have measured the chest size of every person there for some "experiment" (except then the chesty and flat-chested girls would both have been mortified). Just because it is "known" does not mean that a child should have something a teenager would consider embarrassing spotlighted in front of the entire class.
