Had outpatient surgery last week to remove 3 of 4 Parathyroid glands. That should help with my high calcium levels and let me stop taking one of my very very expensive meds. One more scar. Yea me!
Went out to dinner with the family several times over the last couple of weeks. I didn't lose as much weight as I should have. I'm back on track now though and all seems well. Been working a lot outside as the weather got warmer, so moving around quite a bit. Feels good.
I hope everyone is doing well and hanging in as summer comes on and all of those outdoor BBQs come up with friends and family. I know I do poorly at them. I will have to figure something out though as we have lots of them over the summer.
You all have a wonderful day!

This is my two-week weigh in. Still headed in the right direction, even though we ended up celebrating Mother's Day at an Italian buffet. Too heavy! Too too heavy! I felt like crap all day. Then, my husband and I alone took Mom out on Monday to celebrate by ourselves with a movie (Avenger's) and a brewery (their porter is awesome and I ended up having two, along with dinner and dessert.) Lastly, Mom invited us all out on Thursday night to dinner at a little steak house a few towns over. Again, dinner and dessert. So.... ya... not sure why any weight came off really, but here I am. It was all yummy and I'm back on my diet without much trouble.
Medically, my arm is doing well. By the incision things are looking ok to me. But my lower arm is kinda weird. It hurts to wear a watch or push up my sleeves or have really anything on it. I have a follow up appointment tomorrow, so I'll get to ask my surgeon about it. I have another surgery scheduled for the 29th to remove my PTH glands. Oh happy days! No more Sensipar. It's come down since I started taking it 10 years ago, but it's still $800 a month. I have to apply for assistance every year just to get my meds. I hate that crap.
Anyway, all seems to be well. Hope everyone else is doing ok. Moopie, I hope you, especially, are hanging in and I hope you can come back soon. See y'all later!

Had surgery removing my fistula and aneurysm from my left arm last week, so I'm guessing I've taken my diet too seriously for the amount of KCals it needs for repair. This is too much weight loss for me over two weeks. I would really rather stick to 2 lbs or so a week. Hopefully my body adjusts now that I'm on the mend.
