Happy Hump Day FS Friends! Hope you have a terrific day.

I had a hard time waiting a whole week to step back on the new scale, but wanted to try it instead of weighing daily. Was shocked with the results, but really pleased that being careful and trying not to give into cravings (especially at night) paid off. I know a portion of it is due to taking a round of steroids this week, but combined with careful eating & portion control, it was a successful week nonetheless. It's encouraging to see downward movement, and an incentive to continue being careful & mindful.

Would appreciate any comments/suggestions on what works best for you regarding how often you weigh yourself. Every day? Mon/Wed/Fri? Once a week? I'm not sure I can wait an entire week again...I'm too curious now to see if I'm making positive progress, but I also don't want to get discouraged if I regress. Thanks for your opinions.

I appreciate the support this community provides, and take encouragement from other's progress...and their downfalls too. Either way, I can take something away to integrate into my journey, so thanks for your honest sharing.

We CAN do this! Keep up the fight and stay encouraged. Have a good rest of the week.

New Etekcity Smart Fitness Scale (Model ESD93...Amazon) scale arrived last night. Set it up & linked VeSync/FatSecret/Samsung Health. Easy-to-use, nice that it's Bluetooth and came fully charged, no batteries to replace.

Then 'Reality' hit...new scale coordinates with doctor's scale. Old scale was 10lbs lighter. The "Old Me" would have kept the old scale...the "New Me" accepts the higher starting weight, because it's correct. So be it. Trying not to be discouraged, because in all truthfulness I've been convincing myself the lower scale weight was accurate and not admitting the doctor's scale was actually the accurate one. The old scale was voice-only, no readout, and it was whole pounds only. Now I'll be able to know the smallest incremental changes down...or up. Plus it automatically calculates 13 categories (BMI, muscle, metabolic age, etc.). Now on to doing measurements. Then I'll feel like I'm actually starting the new me and the weight-loss journey I need to continue, and will get back to doing the daily diary tracking, and being involved in the Community again. I had backed away for a few days until I got the new scale & updated everything.

Started this weight-loss journey 2 years ago at 314, now starting this phase at 249. Goal 150, so "99 bottles of beer on the wall"...oops! Guess that's not an appropriate song to kick things off! Especially since I don't like beer. (Used to sing that on road trips as a kid to pass the time).

Thanks for your encouragement and support! WE CAN DO THIS!!
