I overdid it on carbs yesterday (natural peanut butter but apparently that was too much) and I felt terrible! My stomach was so messed up; I had terrible dry mouth; I didn't sleep but felt exhausted. I am recording this for future reference when I am yearning for simple carbs. This is the reminder that not only are they bad for me in terms of weight gain, they are bad for me in terms of immediate affect on my wellbeing.

I try to only weigh myself once a week, but after three days of a lot of effort, I decided to check on things. I was pleasantly surprised with a 2.5lb drop! Even if it's just water weight, at least I'm not as bloated! It's so encouraging to see the scale move!

Today is day 3! I feel a wee bit foggy; noticing little things like initially typing "day 2". I'm making an effort to fill up on veggies in addition to my high fat/protein foods. Today was more difficult to maintain a state of fasting until my 16 hours were up, but I did it. I want a doughnut really badly. I'm trying to not give myself the option of a cheat day. I know that if I carb binge the next day will feel like starting over. I want to make exceptions only on special occasions. I think I can do it. I'm chewing my peppermint gum and sipping on seltzer water with lemon. Tonight I'm making a sausage and egg casserole with broccoli. I'm very excited and hoping it will yield leftovers. As far as looking for something sweet to subdue my craving, I'd love some suggestions. I guess fruit could be a way to go. Any input would be much appreciated.

Day 2 of LCHF with 16:8 intermittent fasting. I stopped eating at 6pm yesterday and will be able to eat again come 10am. I did have half and half in my coffee; I'm not sure if that's allowed but I don't think it made much difference. I'm excited! I actually feel like I have more energy than usual.
