I've spent the last two weeks preparing myself for Monday.

Monday is the day. My kitchen is cleaned, I have a special shelf for my daughter, and my recipies are planned. I reread the "New Atkins for a New You" actually purchased the cook book this time and have requested that my coworkers not ask me out to lunch for the next couple of weeks. We now joke that when my birthday hits Mid July, I'm just going to lick the crumbs of my candle.

Even though I haven't been actively doing Atkins for the last two weeks - I have been tracking, something I learned to do in Weight Watchers. I was not too shocked at what I ate, but when I broke out the measuring cups and my food scale I was amazed. It hasn't been so much what I have been putting in my body, but how much. I will be cautious in these first weeks and know that I have that challenge as I move forward in the program.

This weekend I am saying my goodbyes to all of my favourite comfort foods, good bye white rice, good bye noodles (I look forward to introducing Shiratake Noodles when I get to the right phase) and while it feels like I am saying goodbye to an old friend, it is something long over due.

Tomorrow I put the finishing touches on planning and do a weeks worth of snack and meal prep. Wish me luck folks.. it's getting interesting.
