In January 2012 I joined this site because I went from being 120 pounds to 125. A few of my jeans didn't fit and I was feeling "fat". I had never been into health and exercise. I was lucky until that point, being able to eat whatever I wanted and be lazy and still be relatively slim. I started to watch my calorie intake and pounds started coming off...but I just couldn't keep it up. I did not work out consistently and I found it was too hard to give up my weekend junk food and drinking sessions and smoking. Fast forward 2 years and from 120 I was now 136. It was only when someone described me as "curvy" that I took stock of what was happening. I was in denial. No one ever referred to me as curvy and then I realized that I actually started buying clothes in a size up and they were right! I was unhappy and in denial. I started wearing cover ups to the beach and I was just not as fit as I used to be. I felt sluggish and unhealthy. My first big change was quitting smoking after being a smoker for over 10 years. I quit cold turkey and have not looked back since. I thought if I could quit smoking then I had the will power to do anything - so I decided I wanted to tackle my weight and my health. It's been a learning experience, but I believe once you want something enough and have the discipline to do it - it will happen. You only get back what you put in - being honest with yourself is the first step. I'm here to motivate and be motivated!
