I made it through a week 1. Although I was not perfect, it did stay true to my plan and found it much easier than I expected.

My 2 biggest challenges I planned on facing were:
#1 - eating the food that fit into my diet plan while also cooking for my fiance or going out to eat .
#2: dealing with people commenting on my lack of drinking alcohol when we were out and about at our local hangouts.

Cooking for my fiance wasn't so bad. I know he gets burned out on chicken and would have pot roast and potatoes every night if he could. I love chicken and could have it just about every night. He ended up working both Tuesday and Saturday night, so dinner planning was very easy. Friday I splurged and cooked us 2 filet mignons, so neither of us were complaining :) One night was spaghetti with meat sauce and for me I used the "Healthy Noodles" in place of pasta and that was good. Beyond that was chicken. I know I'll need to mix it up this week, but I really want to just stick with meat and veggies, so I may have to get creative with stir fry's.
As far as going out, I was sticking to canned vodka seltzers, but then I saw they had sugar. By Saturday, I learned to just order a vodka soda and keep having the bartender refill the soda water. Only on Sunday night did someone question me about it, but that was the bartender (lol). I just told her I needed to lose weight and had to stop drinking my calories. I declared it to be "Sober Sunday". She understood.

Now on to week 2. I recorded a 4.8lb loss last week. I anticipate this week to be more around 3 as I slow down on water weight release. I have already been to the store to buy chicken, lean ground beef and veggies. so hopefully I am set up for success. I have a buffet work dinner tomorrow, but I am not a buffet fan and am not worried about making the wrong choices.

I wonder if I can make "Filet Friday" an ongoing thing.......

I have made it through my first 3 1/2 days. I know that doesn't seem like a lot, but in the past few years I have barely made it past 2 days. Dietwise, I have been keeping with meat and veggies. The most significant decrease has been in my alcohol consumption. I thought that would be more difficult, but it hasn't. Due to our social life, I would generally drink just about every day. Sometimes 1-2 drinks and sometimes 5+. I knew it was hindering my weight loss and added to my weight gain, but I thought with my low carb beers, dry wines (guess they were considered dry??) and vodka drinks that I was doing OK. Obviously the extra calories were not my friend. Monday I stayed home and I completely abstained from alcohol. Tuesday I was out for about 2 hrs and had a vodka soda with splash of cranberry. Wednesday was vodka soda with splash of cran and also a Corona Seltzer. I nursed both of those drinks for at least 3 hours, which I feel was a big win for me. I know I would try to keep up drink for drink with others and I just cannot do that any more. I know it's going to be a bit of a challenge keeping myself out of situations where alcohol is served, so the best I can do is sip on a drink and then order water.
I've also been trying to focus on my sleep. I notice I have a difficult time staying asleep all night, which is new to me. Mostly I need to get up and pee from all the water I have been drinking, but I have also been having strange dreams which wake me up. We will be buying a new bed soon and hopefully that will help.
As of today, I was 4.5 lbs down from Monday. I don't record my weight daily because I understand the fluctuations. I will do a weekly weigh-in on Mondays that I will record.
