Stuck on a plateau here.
Diet is not what I wanted this week. Even though I told my wife I needed to drop back to South Beach Phase 1 so I could re-start my weight loss, she planned the menu without me - usually we sit down together to plan out the week. The biggest problem is that she doesn't really grasp what needs to be cut - acorn squash with one meal, a tomato-based pasta sauce and spaghetti squash for another meal.
I try to go along, knowing she means well. But the lack of weight loss is frustrating me. I gently mentioned last night that I think I might want to switch over to Atkins induction the next week or so and kick my body into ketosis. Her response was "I thought we were doing Atkins Induction." Despite several months on Atkins and the last 2 years on South Beach, she won't read either book and doesn't understand that both these diets involve more than just cutting out rice, white flour, and sugar. I even had to explain that the Atkins shakes were really good for maintenance in either plan, but that they were not good for either SB Phase 1 or Atkins induction.

Despite the issues it may cause, I have to get the weight loss started again. Eggs for breakfast today, a lean hamburger patty and cheese for lunch, and probably just a salad for dinner, since nothing in the spaghetti squash/tomato sauce meal (we do each meal 2 nights) really works for induction.
