Here is to week one of the medication. I didn't feel the jiters, but does curve appetite. Hoping it will jump start the weight loss. I had a good week, the most I have lost in months. Also, I am continuing my Bootcamp (workout program) through the first of the year. After that, I will start my own in home program. I am gradually adding in "in home" with the bootcamp 4 days a week, so to get in the habit.
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and didn't stuff themselves. I ate in moderation but did enjoy all the annual favorites, including the wonderful desserts.

Thanksgiving holiday is about over. Tomorrow it will be back to work. Had a good time off, got some stuff accomplished finally. Still have a long list of things though. Cold front moved into area, and the winds are fierce today. Was hoping to get outside Christmas lights put up, but doesn't look like will happen today.

Ok. Here I am again, scales back up. Went to doctor on Friday. I was frustrated after several days of basically a liquid diet and no weight loss. I had originally planned to wait until after first of the year and give Bootcamp 3 solid months.
He wants to try a month on medication, but I just don't know if that is the approach I want either. I brought in my food log to the appointment (even had bad foods listed), workouts, and the fact that no loss has him puzzled too. Calories have been 980-1300 on the high end. Limited on carbs, still maybe a bit high in sugar intake, but all in all should have still seen a slow progressive loss, especially with the workouts for the past 7 weeks. He thinks maybe a month on the medication (which is does not prescribe easily) might be what I need to get my metabolism jumpstarted again. He said he has women coming in all the time and the first thing they request is the meds. They still only work with right eating and exercise so he makes them do that first. He knew when he mentioned it I was going to be opposed because I have been since day one, but I am also obese at age 37. My BMI is 33. All my lab work is awesome, great cholesterol, no risk of diabetes, etc. but he also knows that at a 33 BMI, I am just knocking on the door of that happening down the road, which I do not want.
So here I am, up 2 pounds from last week and contiplating taking Phentermine. I bought the prescription Friday but haven't taken it yet. Still torn. I just fear could the medications cause unwanted damage down the line also? Will sleep on it one more night and make the decision in the morning. I know people that have taken it and it did help, they took it only 2 months, which right now, my doctor wants to try a month then evaluate things. He hopes that will possibly be all needed and then my body will start doing its own thing!
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Enjoy time with your family and avoid overstuffing yourself on foods.

gaining 2.3 lb a week

Ok, I am really starting to get frustrated. I have been sick with a head cold since Saturday. Saturday night hardly ate anything, one beef quesadillas from a restaurant and a couple of tortilla chips. Hot sauce, had no flavor. Sunday, meals consisted of a Herbalife shake for breakfast, toasted ham and cheese sandwich for lunch (wanted something solid on stomach when taking meds) and that night glass of orange juice and oatmeal. Monday, was still sick, stayed home from work. Hardly ate anything. Made a cold herbalife shake for mid-morning, added frozen fruit and yogurt. For lunch wasn't hungry, just kept drinking water all day. Last night had a strawberry fruit popscicle (40 calories) and a glass of orange juice. Pretty much for 2 days have had liquid, very little calories....guess what SCALES SAID EXACT SAME WEIGHT AS LAST WEEK. So either I gained during the week and over the last few days lost that to put me back where I was last week, or basically no matter what I eat or don't eat, the weight will not come off. So frustrating. I was so looking forward to a "sickness" loss on the scales. Bootcamp is still going well. I have added Herbalife shakes to my morning and dinner meals and eat something sensible for lunch. Trying to keep all my calories before 6. Will keep pushing and hope the lack of loss has to do with TOM almost being here. I will do the HAPPY DANCE and probably scream when I finally reach the 170s again! I wanted to hit that goal before the holidays, but not going to happen so I am trying to mentally prepare myself for 2 big family meals next week and not "stuffing" myself. Eating fruit, vegetables, and protein and staying away from dressing and sweets.
Back at work today, even though still feel like in a tunnel and that my heart is beating in my head. At least my voice has returned and the coughing is not as bad as it was Saturday and Sunday.
