27 June 2012
Over the past few months I have not fully committed myself to make the changes necessary to lose weight and be healthy. But Starting June 18, 2012, I gained renewed strength in my endeavor and I am more determined than ever to go all the way to my goal and not stop until I reach it. I was very inspired by the extreme weight loss segment on ABC with Chris Powell. He works so closely with these televised individuals to help them transform their completely off the charts huge bodies to a lean and healthy person that was hiding inside that outer shell. It is so emotional for me to watch their stories, their lives, I love their commitment and detemination. If they can do it, and since I have done it in the past- I can do it now. I want to lose 82lbs by March 2013. That's extreme for me. I am already down 8 lbs since I began. So I know I can do it. I have to.

Today I am feeling empowered. I have stuck to a lmost a whole week of exercises on my own and I feel very good today. I started out with a small workout (short on time), but I did not give up and not exercise. A mini workout is better than none. So this afternoon I plan to walk 2 miles on the track. The weather is finally cooling down enough to walk again :)
I had a half bagel with 1 tbls peanut butter and coffe with creamer and splenda and a 4oz cup of applesauce. I will sip on unsweetened vanilla tea and water until lunch- perhaps a banana for a snack in btwn, but I am ready. Salad with small homemade spaghetti for lunch and something comparable for dinner. My vow to myself is to include 15-30 minutes of exercise in daily and reduce sodium from my diet. I know if I workout even in small amounts, I will reach my goal. I plan to increase my workouts gradually; buns of steel, wii, cardio glide, walking, I have my tools and I'm ready to use them!
I estimate it will take me 6-8 months to reach my goal, but compared to the rest of my life and my health, that is very reasonable and worth it to me. Those months will come and go anyway, so I may as well make them work toward the better for myself. The weather is cool and I want to be hot next summer!!!! 42 year old hottie. I can do this!

I start out well, but have trouble maintaining motivation unless I am buddied up or competing.I have so many mini goals and ways that I can lose and I seem to make an excuse everyday. Today, I am changing all of that. My new begining is to include 5-10 min of excercise everyday until I can make it a habit, drink 8-10 glasses of water everyday, and greatly reduce or eliminate sodium from my diet. Those are all easy enough to get me through 3 weeks of commitment. 21 days!
