Diet, it really is a four letter word... I've spent two weeks on the induction phase and have lost a whopping 8 lbs. I figure 6 is water weight because it is the same 6 I lose every time I start a new diet. Throughout my life, I've lost several people size amounts of weight and I always find myself back at square one.
I really have been diligent with minimizing the carbs so I'd say I've been successful at following the diet. Every day is a struggle because working in a school is the easiest was to sabotage a diet.... So much candy, cookies, and all kinds of leftovers... We have a table in the mail room where everyone seems compelled to bring tasty goodies that are leftover. But for the past two weeks I've been good... no nibbles.
HELP! I'm just concerned that now that I can add some carbs, I may not lose anything. I've tried the Ketosticks... I can't get them to turn purple... a weak lavender is all I can manage. Any encouragement or tips would be greatly appreciated.

This is slower going than I thought. Does anyone know how to deal with constipation on Adkins?

Completed week one on Adkins. Followed 100% but never could get those Ketosticks to turn anything but lavender. Lost 6 pounds this week... don't you just love water weight loss..... Hoping the fat loss will follow.

I can't get into ketosis even though I'm under 20 carbs per day. I've started exercising though. I guess that is a good start.
