So today I went grocery shopping and had everything planned. I have decided to plan every meal and every snack so there will be confusion or overeating. I have cut all sweets, except waffles (can't give up the pumpkin spice ones--so instead of syrup I put peanut butter (or almond butter) and raisins...yumm!!) Increased the number of veggies and tried to limit starches and carbohydrates to once a day. I also think that I am going to start freezing meals, since a pitfall I have is just ordering food because a infant can be exhausting and who wants to cook at the end of the day. But if I get some slower cooker meals prepped and frozen then I can just throw it in in the morning and serve at night....very helpful to keep on track and hit my weight loss goals!

So I have decided to focus on weight loss again. In the past I have had mixed success. Generally I would start working out and then quit before seeing any real results. This time has to be different. I am not focusing on any specific diet, just eat healthier and work out. After reviewing my first day's food diary I can see a major problem for me is portion control. This is most likely due to being 3 months post-partum and being used to eating more while pregnant. I keep trying to remind myself that I am not pregnant and eating for two any more. I will be trying to focus on cutting my portions down and increasing my water intake this week. I have joined several challenges to help with evening eating and carb intake. I am going to be successful this time because I have to be. I have to be healthy for my infant son, so he grows up with a mommy and can learn good habits as well.
