Have abandoned counting calories strictly, over-ate, and promptly lost two pounds. *headdesk*
I'm not sure, but it seems that they way I was eating when I counted calories was keeping me hungry all day long, and making me feel desperate. I seem to fare better with eating a few large meals a day than several small ones. It keeps me from obsessively thinking about what I can eat next.
It also seems clear that merely limiting calories isn't enough if I'm still taking in lots of wheat and other heavy carbs. I'm going to adopt Alexandra's idea of ditching the heavy carbs and instead going with healthy fats for satiety. As a result, I've had two whole avocados since yesterday, and man, they are really good.

Huh. I can't tell if my scale isn't very good, or if I'm just not losing weight on this amount of calories. Tempted to go buy a digital scale.
