I have been gone for over ten days because I was not making any progress and I had to rethink this whole changing eating habits thing. During the whole COVID time, I proceeded to eat as I wanted, although I was making healthy meals for my husband. So, one day, I thought about how over 40 years ago, I was 100 pounds less. If you were to tell me that 40 years can add 100 pounds, I would have taken a bet on it, but here I am - 100 pounds heavier. Now mind you, I weighed 115 pounds regularly and exercised extensively. So, I cut out the exercise and change to eating whatever I wanted... make that anything with cheese. I am a vegetarian, so does that not mean that I have a healthier diet???? I tend to never get full, so I continue to make those daily visits to the kitchen. Now it is 40 years later, I just retired, COVID has happened and I am bored, depressed, anxious, and angry. Not good combinations at all. I needed help. Months before COVID, I hired a private chef. She made all my food (headed towards vegan) and over a period of three months, I lost twenty pounds. I found that if someone cooked for me, I was more likely to eat it, so I told her what I liked, and she put her own spin to it and I had meals that made me happy. She even included healthy snacks. ALL HOME MADE FOR MY LIKING!!!I started to shop for smaller sizes and even though I am fashionable, size 2X clothing lacked the style I was accustomed to wearing. The 4th month of this bliss (people were complimenting me and asking what I was doing to lose weight) she had a loss in her family and had to go away, then the 5th month, we were on lockdown. Come back to present day, every day I weighed in at 215 pounds on average. My back hurt constantly, and my body hated me!! I realized that I had to contact her again and I did. Last week, I gave her a call and low and behold, she had not been cooking herself. I guess, this is a terrible time across the board. Thank God, she was ready to jump back in!!! We went over my favorite foods again and she created my meals for the week (and included the caloric count). She even added a special brew of green tea (my favorite) with honey and lemon. She made enough food to take me through Christmas. Since she is so budget-friendly, it was a blessing!!! I am beginning to feel better!!!!
