Haven't stepped on the scale yet today - just got home late last night and overslept this morning. Will weigh in later today.

Looking back at yesterday -
I'd been on the road for 5 days straight - my legs were tight, sore, aching. Got home from work last night and all I wanted to do was sleep in my own bed. Mondays have the most time for me to work out but I crashed instead. Stretched for maybe 15 min to get my legs to where I could actually sleep. All 5 nights on the road I didn't sleep well - not enough hours nor restful, so I know I'm sleep deprived.
Downloaded the app for my droid, and I'm still amazed that so little quantity food can add up to so many calories! Did a better job on curtailing calories at breakfast today and planning ahead for a snack 3 hours out.
My job is very sedentary and I spend 2 hours a day driving there and back. I teach gifted high school students at 3 different school districts. Already decided that next school year must be different - too much time driving and away from home. Gotta find away to get more movement into my work day.
Another point of contention is my husband is a diabetic who has dangerous lows fairly frequently in the middle of the night. He has to eat significantly different than I want to for dinner. He does most of the cooking and I tend to just eat whatever he makes - which is higher in calories, carbs, and portions than I need. Gotta start making my own dinner so I can eat better for me and not expect him to make me something separate.
Good stuff - I have been off soda/pop completely since Jan 1 2010! YAY! I have been caffeine free since March 2010! YAY! My water intake has gone from maybe 4 oz to 2.5 liters a day since Jan. YAY! I don't smoke and don't drink but maybe once in a blue moon to help me sleep - and then it's 1 beer. (like last night)

First log entry -
Tracked calories a million times, but as I'm getting older, stress and age seem to be winning the weight battle. Used to be able to burn off anything I ate, not anymore. Tired of clothes not fitting and numbers climbing.
Trouble zones - when I'm on the road (which is a lot), when I go too long without eating (usually due to my job), not getting a good workout in (tired at the end of the day), convincing myself I can burn X off with a good workout (which doesn't happen after I splurge on X), not keeping track of intake (overeating and not realizing it)
I practice martial arts and have been running to train. But workouts come in spurts due to my insane schedule - no where near enough to have a calorie deficit and no where near enough to be in black belt level shape.
I'm trying to follow Ton Venuto's Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle plan - eating every 3 hours is tough though.
Want to stay accountable and make progress. Can't do this alone!
