Low Carb
Shelliegl,
Remember it is best to avoid as many carbs as you can from the late afternoon on. The reason behind this is that our metabolism slows down as the day progresses. So eating the carbs in the morning and for lunch is a good idea when our metabolisms are working at their best.
Protein, good fats (unsaturated), and veggies are the choice for evening meals.

Ditching the scale
What we need to do is let the mirror be our weight loss guide and throw out the scales.
I mean, we don't see our family, friends, employees etc. and say "Wow, 145, looking good Simon!" Or "Mary, 136, you got it going on sister!" Then why must we use the scale as an indicator of weight loss.
Using the mirror we'll actually see the difference our diets and exercise make. Plus we won't get discouraged if we don't meet a weight loss goal or don't meet our expectations for the week.
I'm not saying
never
know your weight but at the end of the day when you're happy with the way you look, what does it matter how many pounds you are?
Let us show that evil scale we don't need him anymore. When our jeans begin to fall off our waist and our bellies begin to shrink, we'll know we are losing weight, we'll know.
Keep up the hard work friends!

How Often Do you weigh yourself?
Once a week in order to see if increasing my calories by 500 each day really equates to gaining 1 pound.
