I swear I'm going to boycott resturants who don't provide COMPLETE nutritional information!! I understand that most people when they go out don't want to eat healthy. But when I have to join friends or family to dine out--I want at least one thing I can eat and NOT chew up ALL my points for the day!

And the excuse is always, "With so many locations and vendors we can't provide accurate information." Excuse me? The reason you are so popular is because people always know what to expect whether they are are in Dallas or Portsmouth! I doubt very much that the basic ingredient calorie count changes!!!

I've started with the resturants by my office that I often go to for business lunches, birthday's and to meet friends.

Bad List:

TGI Fridays (I'm sorry, "Low Fat choices" and there aren't many, being less than 500 calories and 10 grams of fat--or 11 points--just doesn't cut it--for one thing, who thinks "low-fat" includes 10 GRAMS OF FAT??)
Red Lobster (they only include the nutritional information for their "Light House Selections" and while they are better than Fridays, that's not great--makes me wonder what they are hiding! Not to mention that I found that Chili's has much better choices for WW NOT on the "Guiltless Grill"--something you can only see when you look at the nutritional information!)
Cheesecake Factory (their low-cal choices are a joke, and they don't provide information for anything else)
Razzoo's (nothing)
On the Border ("less than 800 calories 30% fat and 1 gram of fiber per 100 calories"--please that means you have to count 17 points--no matter which you choose!!)
Buffalo Wild Wings
Olive Garden

Good List:
Chili's
Pizza Hut
Subway
Papa Murphy's Pizza (and their "take-and-bake" pizza ROCKS)
--Applebee's (one caveat: they do have a section for WW, but they don't provide the nutritional information for anything at all!)

I'm going to lunch with friends at Friday's today, and I suppose I will have to use my "Assertiveness" tool (that was the meeting last night), and try to eat CORE so reduce the points.

I have a complaint about people today!

I enjoy the articles that
Hungry Girl has on Yahoo Health. The other day they had one that included Chili's (see last entry), and I read through the comments.

I mean if you don't care to have the information, why read the article? I understand if it didn't deliver on it's promise (my sister told me of an article she read the other day called "The Best & Worst Frozen Pizza"--she was hoping to find out which ones were good--but all the article did was trash frozen pizza in general), but just to bemoan the fact that the article only includes "chain" resturants (hello, it's for a nation audience!), or to insult everything seems so silly. If you don't want or need the information, DON'T READ IT!!

I hate mean people! And maybe it's the internet making it easier for people to say horrible things anynomously, or making it more available to be seen, but it seems to be going on more and more!

I am very pround of myself!

We ate Chili's for lunch, and I had the lettuce wraps (only 8 points without the sauce, and while the peanut sauce is 5 points, the ginger sauce is only 1), plus I set half aside for later (last time I ate the entire thing and was so full I thought I'd fall asleep!).

From
Hungry Girl (and the Chili's nutrition information, which unless they'll let you order off the kids menu, doesn't have much else you can eat!):

"Chili's has some awesome soup selections that we highly recommend. You could slurp your way through an entire bowl of their Chicken Noodle Soup for a mere 90 calories and 2 fat grams (2 Points). Or order up a cup of their Southwestern Vegetable Soup for only 110 calories and 5 grams of fat (3 Points)."

We had hoped to each have a bowl of soup and split the lettuce wraps, but they weren't serving either of these soups today.

I also took along 1/2 cup of Fiber One (14 grams of fiber, 0 points) and put it in my wraps. Nice and crispy! Next time I'll have them leave off the little crispy things, since they only get soggy in my leftovers! I didn't quite finish the entire 1/2 cup, so I dumped them into what was left of the sauce...not good...just odd. I have eaten almost all my fiber for the day. I also have actually worked out the last two mornings, although it's been tough because my son has refused to sleep in!

He starts screaming I swear as soon as my alarm goes off, and I know we live in small house, but it's not that loud! This morning I left him to yell and started my workout. My husband got him up and fixed him oatmeal before he left, so he was occupied almost the whole way through.
