losing 0.6 lb a week

And now I know why I am not losing - drink some wine and/or eat a large meal and you get knocked out of ketosis, your body reloads the glycogyn and water into your muscle mass and liver, and you instantly regain that weight, in my case about 3 lbs. And then just for fun, it takes another 2-3 days to get back into ketosis with the right diet. No wonder people fail to lose if they don't know that.
Dr. prescrbed metformin, will start next week. Also R insulin, so the whole thing will need to be relearned. Maybe this is always going to be a process. Lots of moving parts to successful blood sugar control it seems. Got to get a copy of Dana' Low Carb Cookbook. Sounds really good.

There's good news and bad news. According to BS101 and Jenny Ruhl, the avereage weight loss your body will tolerate is about 20% of your starting weight, or in my case, I can expect to get down to about 220 before stall sets in. I can live with that, but I fear that most people on this sight have set unrealistic goals in this respect. The bad news is that this amount of weight loss will most likely have (or could have) no effect on the diabetes, i.e., blood sugar control. Have drs. appointment fri. and will see if I can get on metformin, and can tolerate it. It looks to me like the most probable scenario is that if I can tolerate it, I will end up taking that the rest of my life and supplement with insulin. If not, then it will be straight insulin.

And the beat goes on. Within a hairsbreath of losing 20 lb. for the year. Maybe another 50 to go, but 1 at a time. About out of buffalo burger but have another 80 lbs. coming this week. Can't hardly beat cooking that in beef broth - really soft and moist and very tasty. MRI this afternoon on my back, and hope they can fix the problem, which is probably arthritis in my lower spine. Apparently they actually kill the nerves in certain places with heat to relieve the pain, but they regrow in 1-2 years. BEats living on tylonol 3 however like I have been doing lately. Need to look further into going on metformin and r insulin.

It is becoming obvious to me that I am very insulin resistant and must stay on a very low carb diet. Just ate roast beef, carrots and asparagus - a grand total of 6 carbs and it jumped my BG 15 points at the one hour mark. The Carbquik 6 grams net jumped me 22 points and kept it there for over 3 hours till it dropped. FRozen berries were worse, up over 140 and stayed there for almost 4 hours. A grand total of 24 grams in the frozen (unsweetened) berries. Gonna have to take some novalog with those.
