It's been 20 days since my last weigh in and I'm a bit disappointed that I only dropped a lb. that must mean I gained and loss again. Oh well, I've got a good feeling about this week's diet preparation because I only now just discovered the 'salad in a jar' idea.
I love salads. I mean, when I use the word love when talking about salads I can't stress enough my LOVE for salads...lol. However, I hate taking the time to make them.
So, I'm heading to Walmart after work and will pick up some mason jars. Next stop, grocery store for the ingredients. Yummy!
Weigh-in:
142.0 lb
lost so far:
0 lb
still to go:
12.0 lb
Diet followed reasonably well

Happy Hump Day FS,
It's been a while since I've been able to participate. Going to conferences can not only helped me stray from exercise but my diet as well. I'm scared to weigh myself but I will tonight.
On another note, does anyone have a mom or mom-in-law who practically lives in the kitchen? OMG! My mom-in-law is trying to force me to serve so much food for the Easter holiday. I told her (in a nice sort of way)...HELL NO! We're doing something simple and if she wants a huge feast she'd better host it herself because we will not be left with all that food in our fridge.
Too Harsh? Your feedback is warmly welcomed.

Life Choices: For Better or For Worse
If you're dealt a crappy hand in regards to health problems its very unfortunate and I wish you better days ahead. However, self-inflicted health problems is MY/YOUR own fault and correcting the decisions/habits of the past and/or present should be taken seriously.
Heart disease, diabetes, thyroid conditions (hypo or hyper), and high-blood pressure runs in my family (Thanks A Lot Parents) So, at the ripening age of 41yrs I needed to reexamine my lifestyle.
Cons:
I'm a smoker for 15 yrs.
I drink alcohol at least 3-4 days out of the week
I've got high-blood pressure (damn salt & vinegar potato chips)
I rarely exercised (with the exception of last week)because I've been thin all of my life (Thanks again for the deceptive gene pool mom/dad)
Pros:
I've cut back 60% of sugary drinks/snacks about 7 yrs ago (that syrupy Kool-Aid I grew up with should be considered unlawful)
I love fruits & veggies (especially...well...pretty much all of them except for Brussel Sprouts...Yuk)
I consume at least 60 ounces of water daily (should be drinking 70 ounces...but I'm happy)
HOWEVER!!!!! THE PRO'S ARE NOT ENOUGH.
Over the last two weeks, here are some of the slight changes I've made:
1.
I still smoke but do not take any cigs to work with me. This helps me smoke less throughout the day when combining sleep w/a 9hr work day. I hope this will help quit entirely. (Nicotine companies can all burn in Hell)
2.
I've reduced my alcohol consumption to Friday and Saturdays only (I do miss my glass of wine when watching Scandal on Thirsty Thursdays). Besides, I only consume red wine or vodka (w/splash of cranberry) which has much less calories.
3.
Last week was the first time I've gone to the gym three times in the same week. In addition, I managed to squeeze in about 20 sit-ups and 40 jumping jacks in between the days I traveled to the gym. I will continue this routine.
4.
I've started a multi-vitamin regimen to include a fish oil pill (heart disease prevention) while still eating a pretty well-balanced meal (minus the processed carbs) daily.
5
Last but not least, although I have not gotten under 50 grams of carbs daily...but I'm pretty damn close.
Happy Health Journey!

Didn't go to gym yesterday but I went today. Looks like I don need hubby to go with me for motivation. I'm Doing just fine so far. I'll continue to stick with three times a week until it's an automatic habit in my weekly routine.

Yesterday was the first time back in the gym since November. That's right. I've been paying $20 a month for membership that I haven't been using. I won't bore you with reasons why I didn't go, I'm simply happy I went yesterday. The workout felt great.
Guess what F.S.? I'm going back again today. This time, hubby is going with me.
Happy Health Journey!!!
