My name is Kat. I'm a 37 year old female. I'm happily married to my wonderful husband and as of Dec 22 2013 we will be married 4 years. I have Mental Illness, Diabetes and other health conditions that make it hard to keep fit and loose weight but I am resolute in doing so to hopefully make most of them go away or at least get much better. I've went from 220 to 202 lbs since May of this year and seem to loose 1 to 2 lbs every month sometimes it's more. I'm trying really hard to get down to at least 180lbs which I haven't been since my hernia surgery in 2008. I'm very Optimistic and when I put my mind to something it gets done. ^_^

Hi I'm new Here!
When I went to my diabetes training thing they put me on a 180 gram a day diet. My sugars on daily average are 100 to 85. Some times they drop a little lower. It was 116 this morning when I got up.

Hi I'm new Here!
Hi my name is Kat. I just signed up today. I happened to find this site when I was looking for the carb count for a large egg LOL! XD I am diabetic and am on a strict 180 grams of carbs a day. I found the tools here helpful. I was keeping my own written journal but after I saw what was on here I am very excited! I have weighed 220 lbs for about 4 years now and I was a very BAD (as in eating lots of sugar) diabetic. I am on oral medicines but in May my doctor gave me an ultimatum. I either get myself straight or be given Insulin. I couldn't afford insulin since I'm on Disability and can not longer work due to almost dying and having extensive surgeries to put me back together. This body of mine has been through the ringer and I'm not giving up! I will never be able to lift over 25 lbs again and my knees are bad. So from May of this year till just 2 weeks ago when I was last weighed at my doctors I have went from 220 lbs to 202 lbs! I seem to loose between 3 to 4 pounds every 3 months when I go for check ups. I have totally changed my eating habits. I no longer drink any kind of coke. Not even when I go out just water or tea. When I'm home I drink Coffee, Tea, Water and sometimes Koolaid but not often. I eat more Veggies and Lean Meats. I love Asian Food and cook it quite often for me and my husband. I am also learning to try new foods. My A1C has dropped 2 points over the last 6 months and my doctor is very pleased. Overall I feel much better and hope to get a bike soon to ride! Very Happy Well that's about it I guess. Feel free to add me as a buddy. I'm not sure how to do it yet on here.

Daily routine
I had hernia Surgery in 2008 and have to take it easy with abdominal exercises and I can only lift 25 lbs. I try and do chair exercises and I try and walk 30min a day outside. I hope to get a bike soon and start riding around town to my appointments. The way I look at it I'm trying. I've totally changed the way I eat and have went from 220 to 202 lbs since May of this year!
