Do you mean house work? If I vacuum, I don't exercise that day because it takes 2 hours to vacuum, moving furniture, going under it and wiping up the bathroom floors and the kitchen floor. I can burn about 400-500 calories just doing that

Lol I meant like working out while doing house work... I do lunges and swats while vacuuming and that kind of stuff. Just seeing if anyone had any new ones I hadn't tried yet. I feel like I spend most of my day cleaning just wanted to be able to feel the burn while doing it ya know

I try not to do too much housework Smile Actually working out has become such a priority that it gets in the way of housework! However, at work I try to throw in some jumping jacks and some abdominal exercises (Jillian Michaels youtube video showed some ab exercises that you can do just about anywhere). I drink a lot of water, so I spend a lot of time in the bathroom - that is when I try to sneak in some of these exercises. I have a friend that does push ups randomly throughout the day. (knee raises, side crunches, toe touches)
You can definitely burn a lot of calories doing housework, or just moving more during the day. I can burn 400-500 calories more in a given day if I just stay away from my desk! Paperwork gets in the way sometimes and can't be avoided, but if I can spend most of my day moving around, I burn way more calories (according to my bodymedia fit).

Thanks Ncnole! I use the Jillian Michaels youtuube video's too. However I never thought about doing side crunches or knee raises! I'm on the road all the time and it occasionally cause me to miss a workout then I feel guilty. So I figure if I'm working out and getting things done I wont feel as guilty

I have stairs in my house, so I just try to use those as often as possible.

Also, we have an extra refrigerator in the "man cave" downstairs. One of the "dieting" methods I use is keeping the junk food and sodas in the downstairs area. That way if I want to get a soda or a Little Debbie, I have to decide if it's worth it to take the stairs to get it. And then if I do decide it's worth it, at least I "earn it" by taking the stairs. Smile Silly I know, but hey, sometimes it works.

Terry... Little Debbie and I used to be on a first name basis. Always had at least 3 varieties here. She's actually not a nice person. She's permanently skinny and young. Notice she looks the same on all the boxes. She's looked like that for many many years. Her goal is to make you fat.

Time to find another reward for taking steps. Also time to enter all the food you eat everyday. Then you'll see the junk you're eating and will begin to make the necessary adjustments to eat healthy things like veggies, fruit and meats/fish. A balanced diet is so healthy. And you set yourself up with eating habits that will last a lifetime.

I had hernia Surgery in 2008 and have to take it easy with abdominal exercises and I can only lift 25 lbs. I try and do chair exercises and I try and walk 30min a day outside. I hope to get a bike soon and start riding around town to my appointments. The way I look at it I'm trying. I've totally changed the way I eat and have went from 220 to 202 lbs since May of this year!

What I need to do is to find out where they're keeping some menus of what works for people. If you have any ideas, let me know!
