I am closing in on 50 way too fast. I was also closing in on 300 lbs way too fast. Over the first part of 2019 I gained about 50 pounds in just 8+ months. Ma has hypothyroid and pops has T2 diabetes. And menopause isn't kidding around either. The perfect storm is brewing inside my body.

I was beginning to hate going to the salon to get my hair done. My legs and ankles always looked so big and fat in the mirror in front of my chair. Clothes shopping was becoming too much to bear as well. All the cute shirts never went up to my size. Shoe shopping was a ball - suddenly I needed wide width shoes! I am 5'10 and hold my weight well, but I don't like this stuff with new sizes and fat ankles.

Went to the Dr. for the first time since my youngest son was born in 2005. I weighed in at 269. Yup, that's why I feel so fat. I've always had low to normal blood pressure, but not this day. 133/86.

Labs ordered, bloodwork done. I am following up with Dr later in October, but results are showing hypothyroid and pre-diabetes. I can't change the thyroid, but I'm not having any of that diabetes.

Dr. recommended low carb and I jumped in with both feet.

Word of warning: I cuss like a sailor. If you are squeamish with language, I'm sorry. It's just me. Fuck is my favorite word.
