Monday was my re-start day. I drank well over 100 oz of fluid, either water or green tea, stuck to my no/low carb foods, mainly meats, and tried to flush all of those nasty carbs from my body. I can tell you that I felt positively ill on Sunday, just achy as all get out. Of course part of it was due to the fact that on Saturday, we hit a new high of 66*F and then on Sunday our high was 40*F. That was hit sometime in the early morning hours and it just got colder and windier from there. Those damn temperature changes kill my joints and I just ached and hurt. Then yesterday I started flushing, drinking the cranberry water and green tea, only eating protein and a little carbs (think asparagus and cottage cheese), and I can tell you I started to feel ten times better. This morning it was still a little hard to get out of bed, but I figured another day of flushing and I will be back at it.

Oh, and it wasn’t easy, someone’s birthday was on Sunday so of course someone baked muffins and brought in Tim Horton’s donuts and coffee and of course the break room is two doors down. I am proud to say that I stayed away and not one, ONE, of those things touched my mouth! Overall I am pretty proud of myself, I am at 303lbs and it could have been a lot worse.

Keeping at it is hard, but the payoff in the end is worth it!

Well, I did maintain with the onslaught of holiday parties starting this past weekend. As you can see, my diary shows that I am back on the ball already; I hit the ground running yesterday. It was “nacho bar” day at work and they don’t offer anything else hot to eat on those days. So I went to the “bar” part and got some lettuce, then instead of loading up on tortilla chips, I just had them put the taco meat and black beans on the lettuce. I was so proud of myself for resisting the temptation! This weekend begins the final leg of my holiday party nightmares (ha!). I have already prepared by telling them all that I would bring my 7 layer salad (very Atkins friendly) to each dinner and know to stay away from the rolls!

Good luck to you all, these are the final tough weeks to make it… the New Year is right around the corner. I personally am trying to get my yoga in when I can and have succeeded this week!
