Finished day 6 of healing fast and started day 7 as of 1pm today. Neck by right shoulder super painful today. Gone for now thankfully. Knees only a little sore but then again, I didn't do very much today. I did take a snail walk around the block tonight. Thought I'd never get home - that's how slow! And wow water has been tasting really super sweet for the 3rd day now - and it's filtered water at the house as well as bottled water at my meeting Mon night so I don't think it's the water. Could have to do with white coating on tongue that I really didn't notice til today. This might be TMI but wow my body has changed it's odor and not in a good way, so I'm looking forward to that changing back to normal eventually.

Will be breaking fast tomorrow afternoon after the full day 7. Slowly with broth every few hours for the whole day probably. I really really thought I would go longer with this fast but it has just been exhausting and I think I've had enough of that feeling for now. It will be only 7 days but it feels like I've been doing this for 3 weeks. And my list of things to do keeps growing and I just can't put stuff off any longer, so the timing there is right. And the final nail - hubby going out of town for work on Tuesday means I've got to be alert and capable of taking care of our diabetic dog, which he has been doing while I've been fasting. So normal walks are important and giving him his insulin which there's no way I'd do as tired as I am. Long post, just trying to capture this in prep for my next fast if I do another.

Overall, I thought I'd go a lot longer and I'm somewhat disappointed that I'm stopping now. Not being fair to myself though, because 7 days is crazy long when it feels like 3 weeks:) And the timing works out with life plans, so it is what it is and I'm amazed I've been able to do this at all. 1st and 2nd fasts were 4 days, this one 7. If I do another, I'll shoot and plan for 15 days.

Really looking forward to that broth tomorrow afternoon:)

Question: If 3500 cal to lose 1 lb is used to determine calorie deficit and weight loss estimates, how am I losing 1.3 lbs daily on healing water fast over last 3 days?

Background info: I find it interesting that I'm losing 1.3 lbs per day on my healing fast - 1pm will mark finish of day 3, start of day 4. I've been fairly low on carbs for example my July avg was under 40 g daily. I've been drinking about 2 L water daily for 1-2 weeks now. I don't believe that it is water weight as I had a pretty bad swelling problem with ankles and knees for over a year that I addressed with change in eating habits starting with FS at end of May, and I have had visible ankles with little swelling for some time now and have been seeing changes in my knees and legs as well. Also, not doing much of anything except extremely slow walk around block twice a day and very little work around house - much less than I used to do.

Any thoughts?

Into day 4 of healing fast as of 1 pm today. Today is all about being tired. Took a few crystals of sea salt and little 'no salt' for potassium. I think i forgot to buy magnesium so I'll have to figure out something for that. I keep thinking it would be nice to have some energy, but I also think I'd rather have all that energy go towards taking apart cellular material that is not functioning properly and putting it to use elsewhere. So I guess I'm good with feeling low energy for the fast. Took a long slow walk this am and a shorter slower walk pm and got a little work done around house. Very little. Still a bit hungry but OK around kitchen with hubby making super delicious dinner I suggested for him. So while he ate pulled pork with cheese, tomato, lettuce, avocado with bbq sauce in a tortilla, I relaxed in the other room. My brain and body just don't want to move so that's ok for now. We will watch some comedians in cars getting coffee and laugh for a bit before I nod off tonight:)
