WOW! Long time since my last JE. Monitoring my diet and weight has become routine/lifestyle. I’m on a steady decrease and feels great on all fronts. If I am eating out, there’s less sabotage. I focus on the enjoyment of the food, the company and understand that this is not everyday, although these meals out can sometimes be more often, as we meet up with friends to socialize.
Two strategize for permission to eat what you want at your favorite restaurant.
- Order the higher calorie/carb meal and eat HALF! There’s salad and veggies always to flesh out meals. I don’t have to remind about drinking water right? Even if you are enjoying a cocktail.
I rarely order dessert out. I prefer a little something sweet later and that gives me something to look forward to, even if it is a cup o’ tea and half a frosted cookie!
Choosing the meal salad is a great option to fill the corners of your stomachs. Most of the salad additions are not issues when taken in moderation, but the dressing is where you can go amiss. One or two measured Tablespoons is the usual portion, but realistically double or triple that amount will be enough to wet all your greens etc. who wants a dry salad. One trick is to drizzle a little vinegar first over your salad before dressing. Then either half your dressing with water. You can stretch 2 tablespoons to four and your salad is better covered . The other option is to keep your salad undressed , besides the vinegar, and just dip your fork into the dressing before attaching each bite. This might seem painstaking, but it makes your eating more mindful, enjoyable.
Just some ideas. Whatever works right? What tricks do you do ? Love to hear.

Thankful for the downward trend on the weigh loss chart. Backed off the jogging regimen with a very bad runners knee. Never dealt with that before. I guess I’m getting a bit more fragile these days. Anyways switched to moderate road biking last week and will continue this week until knee inflammation is totally cooled. Not sure if I will continue with the jogging- TBD. Got to listen to the bod. Yoga seems to help.

Started a jog walk regimen with my husband about two weeks ago. We cover about 12 miles a week . Thought this would burst my weight loss. Well it did now at the end of the second week.
I’m not frustrated since I know there is a bit of muscle building going on and ultimately more muscle requires more calories. Finally seeing the scale dip.👍
