I am 47 and enjoy walking and music. Sometimes my weight creeps up by a few pounds. It recently crept up by about a stone so I am working to get back into my clothes!

Cracked Heel
I find that if I knit or get engrossed in an activity, it takes my mind off food.Have you thought about embroidery or a hobby that keeps your hands busy. Even reading an engrossing book helps me. I am not sure about sitting exercises. Maybe somebody else will advise.

Fat mass index
I have not really given the fat mass index much thought as I have always used the BMI as a guide. I now weigh 10st 3.5lbs and at 5ft 7ins this puts me in the middle of my ideal BMI. However having checked my fat mass index on a new machine which has appeared in town, it seems my body fat is fairly high at 31%. I have always wondered if the BMI would be accurate for me as I have very small hands and feet for my height (size 4 feet)
I am not sure how it works really. Should I be looking to lose a few more pounds to get within an ideal range or is it something that can only be achieved with building muscle? I am quite restricted when it comes to working out as I get severe migraines which can be triggered by exercise. I am about to start pilates and I walk a lot.

what does "food mean"?
I never believed all the hype about potatoes.
I would have a very complex answer to that question but work on thinking of food as nutrition and medicine. Hopefully that will help my make choices that are helpful not toxic.

Mine was at maintenance weight but you can adjust it for if you want to lose or maintain.
