My goal this week was to get back to 159.I almost made it! Need to watch eating closely this weekend to drop all the way to goal. Walked 5 days this week, 1 1/2 miles each day. Taking the weekend off from walking, but still in garden mode.

Finished planting more flowers yesterday, dianthus, purple basil, asters, coreopsis, more. My experimental wildflower roll out carpet has sprouted. Looking forward to seeing what grows.

Managed to add English peas and asparagus to the freezer last night. Time to rip up peas and plant pole beans there.

Mystery: Hubby woke me up this morning to ask if I had turned on the dishwasher. It was running. Neither of us turned it on. I haven't used it in a long time -- easier just to hand wash our few dishes. Called nephew Jon to come down and disconnect it -- he did, but no clue as to why it decided to turn itself on! Would make a good plot for a story, but I have no idea what caused it!

So Sunday morning I weighed 159, lowest I have been in I don't remember when! Sunday evening we ate with friends and on Monday morning I was back up two pounds. Goal for the week is to get back down!

Yesterday I tried something new: roasted radishes. I've been seeing that a lot lately and since I don't eat potatoes anymore I thought I would see if they really tasted like fried potatoes. Hubby's comment: "If I had been expecting potatoes I would have thought they tasted kind of funny! But it was different anyway!" So I'll try it again especially since I don't much like raw radishes and there are lots in the garden. (Garden is producing beet and turnip greens, English peas, onions, lots of asparagus! Yay! I love garden season!)

Thanks everyone for the anniversary congratulations. Someone wanted to know what the top three recommendations are for a long term marriage. Hubby and I agreed on three: 1. Shared belief in God 2. Trust each other 3. Willingness to make marriage work. Of course that last one entails realizing what our own weaknesses are as well as our partner's and forgiving each other where we conflict.

56th anniversary today! We exchanged cards, but plan to celebrate next week. We nearly always celebrate by eating at Red Lobster -- so will I eat those cheese biscuits or will I be able to pass them up!

Today I drank my Keto coffee, skipped breakfast. Didn't eat lunch, so blood sugar dropped too fast -- I ate a hershey bar and fudge bar after grocery shopping and drank a premier protein drink on the way home. Supper was low sugar cranberry juice, cheese stick and another fudge bar, so I didn't stick with my diet well today.

Today hubby worked on rebuilding a pasture fence, with son and grandson. I went to the garden show and came home with more plants -- most of them are now planted. I'll plant the rest tomorrow after the rain.

Yesterday we ate our first garden meal: turnip and beet greens cooked with fresh herbs, bacon wrapped asparagus, radishes, green olives, with cottage cheese. English peas are ripe, so we ate them today with the rest of the asparagus. I pulled some green onions to put in the salad tomorrow, with more fresh radishes. Loving to have my garden producing again.

I walked 5 days this week, skipped today. Will start again with my neighbor on Monday. I brought home a bouquet of wild flowers from my walk on Friday. It looks lovely in my kitchen and the wild honeysuckle in it smells wonderful. We are past bluebonnet season, but Indian paintbrush, Indian blankets, dandelions, butterfly weed, yellow daisy-like flowers, primroses, and several kinds of purple legumes paint the roadsides and pastures with colors.

Weather man is warning about possible stormy weather tonight. Hope it doesn't hail on my garden.
