Caloric intake question...
I have found for myself that FS over calculates ones Resting Metabolic Rate. Mine by 30% which is a big number if you are trying to loose weight and it is calculating off a base that is 30% too high. This is the formula to calculate your rate for burning calories if you do nothing. Then adjust for exercise etc.
Women: BMR = 655 + (4.35 x weight in pounds) + (4.7 x height in inches) - (4.7 x age in years)
Men: BMR = 66 + (6.23 x weight in pounds) + (12.7 x height in inches) - (6.8 x age in years)
Women: BMR = 655 + (9.6 x weight in kg) + (1.8 x height in cm) - (4.7 x age in years)
Men: BMR = 66 + (13.7 x weight in kg) + (5 x height in cm) - (6.8 x age in years)

removing resting on exercise...
The resting hours are to balance to a 24hour day. You still burn calories even resting. HOWEVER I did a metabolic resting rate calc for myself and got to 64.52 Cal per hour. Fatsecret is using almost 91.67 for me so overestimating my calorie burn rate by 30%. Could be why people battle to loose weight.
In case anyone is interested the calculation is as follows:
For Women: BMR = 655 + (4.35 x weight in pounds) + (4.7 x height in inches) - (4.7 x age in years)
For Men: BMR = 66 + (6.23 x weight in pounds) + (12.7 x height in inches) - (6.8 x age in years)
