I started training in January 2020 when I saw that I was 250lbs, the heaviest I have ever been in my life. I hated myself, and like many others, started a weight loss journey from the perspective of hatred of my body. Needless to say, that type of motivation was successful for awhile. It wasn't until the end of 2021 that I realized that I cannot hate my body into shape.

I went from 250lbs to 218lbs and 28%BF to 9%BF ina matter of a year and a half to 2 years. I was training 6-7 days a week and working 12hr shifts when my body rebelled against me and started putting on body fat. I was not taking care of my body like I should have and it went into survival mode. To make things even more clear that I was hurting my body rather than helping it, I got sick and was physically unable to workout which left me no choice but to sleep and recover. It was a this point I needed to change my approach.

It's been over a year of increasing my calories and focusing on getting stronger in my home gym. I have gained nearly 80% of the weight back since I started. I have had to learn that my overall weight is only a small piece of the pie when it comes to my total fitness. This journey has taught me to look at other aspects of success to notice improvement and not just what number is on the scale.

Improving myself through fitness and nutrition is a lifestyle that I'm glad I decided to do. It had helped me improve physically, mentally, and spiritually.
