losing 1.1 lb a week
16 July 2014
Today I visited the dietician for an official weigh-in and appointment. I'm down 9 lbs from the last visit 3 weeks ago and a total of 36 lbs! Also averaging 3 lbs/week which is up from 2.5 lbs/week since the visit prior.
I implemented the law of averages strategy these last few weeks. Basically, my daily intake goal is between 1200-1400, so let's just call it 1300. The idea is to AVERAGE 1300 calories a day. Balancing it is easy. If I over-indulge by 300 calories on Sunday, I will under-indulge by 300 calories on Tuesday or 150 Tuesday and Wednesday.
This really has helped a lot. I no longer feel deprived of "the good stuff". I've eaten pizza, meatball parm heroes, cheeseburgers, steaks, and sweet stuff. The key is to not to over-indulge to the point where it would take weeks to make it up.
I also Fruit Fast one day a week, and I've been successful at it 80% of the time. The Fruit Fast is a day with nothing but FRESH fruits and FRESH juices and obviously water. You don't count calories this day and you can eat as much fresh fruit as you want.
This Fruit Fast does two things:
1. It acts as a reset button putting you back on track.
2. There is virtually no sodium so it significantly reduces swelling and inflammation; not just externally with your skin, but internally with your organs and such. This is very good for your body long term.
I'm not going to lie. The Fruit Fast is not easy. The first time was rough. After a few weeks I've gotten to the point where it doesn't bother me until about 8 or 9pm. The key to the Fruit Fast day is to stay extremely busy and go to bed early.
However, when you wake up the next day, you feel AMAZING! I'm hoping I can do two of these in a row once I get passed the first day without ever getting the urge.
Try it tomorrow and let me know how you feel on Friday!
25 lbs to go for first milestone...
50 lbs to go for top-line maintenance weight...
65 lbs to go for bottom-line maintenance weight...
You just have to KEEP MOVING FORWARD and take one bite at a time! At least that's what I tell myself!
PS: New job starts on Monday so this will be a challenge as I have built a nice routine right now.

losing 2.5 lb a week

disappointing two weeks. my activity level increased significantly while my diet maintained at 1200-1400 calories. doc thinks that the activities promoted muscle growth which is weight gain so not to get discouraged.
