What about me? – February 18, 2015

You see the results on Myfitness Pal, Spark People, Fat Secret etc. 50 lbs. in four months, 75 lbs. in six and so on but what about us those guys and girls who struggle and fight so hard just to lose 1 lb.

Well I am that girl…

I moved from my island home, Barbados, to Bermuda in September 2014 and prior to my arrival I was weighing in at 205. By the end of October with no exercise I was weighing in at 195. In November I signed up for a gym membership where I worked out Monday to Friday for 3 weeks and lost a total of 6 lbs.

In December I went home for 9 days and left me tell you I ate everything and drank sodas (something that I had eliminated from my diet since September) and by the time I came back to Bermuda I was 194. I cut the sodas back out of my diet and drank water and green tea and by the end of January I was weight in at 190 lbs.

I paid for my gym membership from the end of December and only started going to the gym at the end of January. I focused more on nutrition and started packing my own lunches.

Here is where my struggle begins after working on my nutrition and going to the gym at least 4 times per week I have lost a whopping 3 lbs! I feel as if I am fighting a losing battle I work out at the gym and then go home and work out some more. I wake up in the morning and do a workout at home and it has not changed anything.

I hear people tell you maybe it isn’t reflected on the scale but if you measure you have lost inches. Yes my skirts feel a little looser but that measuring tape shows zero difference in my measurements. What am I doing wrong?

I am 5’1” and people often say that I am thick versus fat (doesn’t make a difference to me as I am still big).

Help!!!!
