This week was very stressful with adding gardening to my already packed days. I am thankful for my growing business, but it does keep me from my daughter and husband too much lately. We hired a daycare for emergencies and a part time babysitter so I can get stuff done. It's like a dream come true to have a few hours a day to bulldoze my way through a "to do" list. My mantra - vacation in July, vacation in July, vacation in July!

Life is good at the moment. Lots of stuff going on at home and with my mom, but it's nice that everyone is healthy and enjoying the Spring weather.
Before having my little girl, who is almost five now, I was starting to get peri-menopause symptoms. Then I got pregnant! Now, my body is playing catch up. On a positive note, I knew this was going to happen, so I started preventative measures for all the physical symptoms. I just wasn't prepared for the emotional ones.
My goal is to try to remember how I was before - really even keeled and not easily stressed. When I quite smoking, that's all I did to make it happen. I just remembered what I was like before I started and the cravings went away. I liked the feeling of being in my early 20's as a non-smoker all over again. Likewise, I think I can draw myself into the "old" me to get back to my 30's kind of feeling. It's totally worth a try!

I've finally gotten around to putting some words in this journal. I've been a recovering bulimic for almost 30 years. I have had it under control for over 20 years, but still occasionally have a mini-binge. No big deal since I've been the same weight for decades except for when I was pregnant. I just don't want to forget that I need to be kind to myself always. I have that family to care for and my body is the only vessel I have to depend on.
I joined this site to share my recipes and friendship and support. I commend everyone here because you all are so open and honest about your trials and tribulations. It would have been great to have you around when I was struggling with my eating disorder, but back then there wasn't even a world wide web yet!
My goal here is to keep a steady pace and be good to myself as I go through menopause. Hormones are reeking havoc on my usually even-tempered self and I find myself thinking about food again just like the old days. The fight goes on but with you, I'm keeping on top of it!
I apologize for not tracking my food or exercise or weight. Since I've been at my goal weight for years, I don't really want to track. I walk and stationary bike 1/2 hour per day each and I keep my calories around 1500 a day. It's been this way since almost the beginning of time. Nothing really to tell, you know?

This is a very exciting to find! I have oodles of healthy recipes that I've been creating and making better over the years for myself and my family. We love to eat so we want to make it healthy and live a LONG time!
