With the exception of a single day's relapse, I have been alcohol free for 38 days. (Woohoo!) This is probably more alcohol-free days than altogether in my entire adult life! The greatest benefit I feel is that I sleep like a log, sometimes not even waking to attend to the "call of nature". I am not sure that the lack of alcohol has contributed much to my weight loss - the jury is still out on that, but I am not going to experiment to see. I am enjoying the LCHF diet again, which makes it easier. I was previously on those other "if it tastes good, spit it out, because it's bad for you" dietetic regimes, with good but unsustainable results because I was always freaking hungry. And what's sexy about celery sticks, low-fat cheese and Provita biscuits, compared with roasted lamb chops, avocado pear and a Greek salad, after all? If I can eat the latter and still lose weight, as I do, then gimme the fats, Baby!
