How do I delete historic (2011) entries that are messing up my nice new weight history?
Lyn,
I have entries going back, in stark detail showing my success and failure over the last several years. I’m not sure why you’re worried - there is something useful in seeing the good and the bad over the years, IMHO... I’m assuming the weight is either a fair bit higher or lower and the contrast is frustrating for the graph? I wouldn’t probably change it - but if you are really stumped, I suppose you could just start a new account and re-enter all the old entries.. otherwise, I’m not sure about how to change historical weight entries.

Gaining on 800 cal/day
Could be thyroid.. but the most likely culprit is that she’s actually eating more calories. I’ve known soooo many people who share that trope, and every time you turn around it’s a snack here, and a snack there. Have her get her thyroid checked, as crstlgls says, but most likely, she’s eating more than she says. Which is fine. I wouldn’t challenge her about it - everyone is entitled to have the body they design without criticism...

Life Is Hard, And There Is No Easy Road
Best books I’ve read in a long time, older one, “The Road Less Travelled” and a new one, “12 Rules for Life”. The essence? Life is hard and there is no substitute for discipline hard work.
I’m not going to lose weight by magic, blaming my metabolism is not helpful, neither is complaining about learned food habits or “how my spouse eats”.
Yes, it’s hard. But, in discipline comes pride of accomplishment.

Advice on curbing my appetite
For me the game changer was “fat”.
I find that getting some butter, some eggs, frying my pork chops or steak... significantly impacts appetite reduction.
And for me - sugar or refined carbohydrates are HUGE appetite triggers... once I get off of sugar and pasta/rice/potatoes.. my appetite becomes very moderate... drives my wife crazy (last night, “Aren’t you starving?” - uh. No actually.)
