I am doing pretty good on my diet so far in terms of actually trying and giving up or limiting foods I'd usually inhale.
I used to eat so much horrible crap daily that, now that I am counting calories, was so obviously the culprit to my fatness. An entire box of mac 'n' cheese, a pack of ramen noodles with an egg drop, can after can of regular soda, -fast food-, candy, O.M.G. Large McDonalds Iced Coffee w/cream and sugar (My favorite thing -ever-. I still think about it every day. Lol.) This isn't even the half of it. It wasn't just my food choices, but my portions! Wow.

I'm going to cut back on weighing in. Today I discovered that my nearly brand new digital scale (Taylor) is a jerk. If I step on and off of it a couple times I get a couple different weights. They range about 1.4 pounds. Which isn't a whole lot in the long run, but if you are weighing day to day, like I have been, 1.4 lbs is a huge difference. I'm thinking every 3 days, enough to keep me in line, but not enough to drive me crazy!
Weigh-in:
176.8 lb
lost so far:
7.2 lb
still to go:
49.8 lb

::Checkpoint Goal Dress::
I have a ritual when dieting of hanging up a pair of my old favorite pants that are a size down from my current size with a little sign that says "Goal Pants!". (I gained all of my extra weight over only a few years so I still have tons of my clothes from my smaller sizes all the way back to my goal size). I enjoy doing this because it gives me a tangible "prize" to strive for and see everyday. This was my inspiration for "The Wedding Dress Diet". The problem with my "Goal Pants" is that I never give them a "goal date", so there is no real urgency, but the wedding dress comes with a date, so it is really keeping me driven.
However, I decided that my wedding dress goal is a bit far into the future and I can see myself slipping up and convincing myself that "I have plenty of time" before I have to fit into it. So, I have decided to add a goal with a deadline at approximately the 6 month mark. I have this one dress that still has the tags on it because I gained weight too fast to ever get to wear it. It would be awesome if I could fit into it by New Years. So, I hung it up with a little sign, "Goal Dress: New Year's Eve 2012" The size makes it a pretty aggressive goal, but what have I got to lose?
**I will state it now so I won't feel bad in the future, if I can just squeeze into it that counts, even if it looks bad and I choose not to actually wear it.
