losing 11.2 lb a week

There it goes, popping back up into the 150's again. My go-to whenever the scale shows a higher number than the day before is disappointment with myself. But the numbers on the scale fluctuate due a lot of factors. I need to remember that when I get to my goal weight. Instead of one number that I try to balance on all of the time, I will look at my "green" weight range: average for the week being 5 lbs under or over. This will be 130-140 lbs. If I creep up to 141 or more, then I need to pause to reset my eating patterns. And if I start losing too much unintentionally, I will need to do the same.
Also, I used to avoid weighing myself to try to keep from disappointment when I knew I wasn't eating right, like hiding from seeing my weight would somehow not make the gain real.
So during weight loss I need to not only watch what I am eating, but also how I am thinking and feeling. I need to be retraining my brain in how to read the scale measurements and to treat it as a tool in my weight loss/weight management, not the judge/jury/executioner of success or failure.

Dropped into the 140"s! My doctor projected that I would before we met again (every 2 weeks). But it's more than just the numbers on the scale, or even the health benefits. It's figuring out why I overeat, what triggers bad decisions, and how to be more mindful when eating. Thought I would write this down for the harder part of this journey: weight maintenance. Being overweight was just the symptom of causes.
