Happy, soon to be 39 year old female with lovely family (hubby and three children), love sports and cooking - and champagne as it happens ! Put on weight during my last pregnancy(twins), dropped it all off in a couple of months, but when I stopped brest feeding I started to put on and on and on... Still eating for three I suppose !

DragonLady !
Now I´m going on my fourth week and am pleasantly surprised with my own effort... But nothing much has happened with my weight the last week. I used to be a vegetarian so I´m doing good in the vegetable department, but I certainly have problems with eating all the protein. I just don´t like meat that much and if I keep going the way I do for the moment eggs are going to drop off the menu for life. Do you know that one should eat -minimum- one gram of protein/kg (own weight) and it´s actually much better if it´s 1,5 gram/kg during dieting to prevent muscle loss. (And muscle loss is the enemy - muscles keep up the basic metabolism rate). That´s a lot of steak...Sad

Hello DragonLady,

your dessert recipe with pears, cinnamon & nutmeg sounds smashing. I only use nutmeg in mashed potatoes and that is of course out of the question for the moment... Oh, the pain of it ! I love food, or maybe the whole package, shopping, cooking, having family and friends for dinner or lunch, or ... whatever. For the moment I don´t trust myself around a kitchen. I love trying out new recipes and reading cook books, but I would go nuts if I tried that right now. I just cook for my kids and then I run out of the kitchen. Actually working in a kitchen as you do ...Rolling Eyes
I lost about two pounds the first week and maybe I can manage two pounds this week as well, but I have cut all sweets; white sugar, honey - everything but plain apples/pears and berries (strawberries, raspberries and blueberris -without added sugar of course...
I really hope I make it through this second week OK because two weeks is some kind of mental hurdle for me and I just have to jump it - or crawl ! I don´ care I just want to get over -badly !!

Hi,

I joined yesterday but started my new GI eating habits the 20th of August. I have looked in the "Promote your diet" and "Food and recipes" sections and they are sadly empty. There seems to be a lot of recipes on seperate members pages, can´t we all post recipes
in the above section ? I am always on the look out for new ones !

Aut viam inveniam aut faciam - where there´s a will there´s a way !!
