I bought 4 avocados last Friday that weren't ripe and they all decided to ripen at one time so I've been eating them like crazy. I had 1/2 of one for breakfast and half with lunch. Today is grocery shopping again. My family loves desserts. Actually, my husband does not think the day is complete unless he has something sweet at the end of it. Last week I made peanut butter cookies but didn't have any. This week I am making banana pudding, brownies, and cookies because he was seriously complaining about the lack of sweets in the house. The banana pudding is going to be made with sugar free/fat free jello so it won't be too bad and I'm definitely going to stay away from the others. Every meal that my family wants something that I know doesn't match up with my goals, I have a substitute for myself. They are having pizza, I am having chicken salad and baked potato. They are having yakisoba, I am having veggie lo mein. They are having Tacos, I am having a taco salad with no shell. I'm trying to wait until Sunday to record a weigh in because that's when I entered my start weight on a Sunday. I'm also thinking about having a cheat day once every 2 weeks but that kind of scares me because I don't want to lose momentum.

I'm pretty proud of myself at almost the end of the first week. Today my niece came over to play with my daughter and I took them skating. I knew I was going to take them to McDonald's for lunch so I had my lunch early before we left and got them lunch to eat in the car on the way to the skating rink. I couldn't skate with them (although I will when the baby gets older because it looked like a lot of fun) because I had to hold the baby but I wore him in my sling as I walked back and forth in the beginners circle with the girls. I still haven't had soda or kool-aid this week and have been drinking 9-12 glasses of water each day instead. Like I said...pretty proud. Next week is going to be kind of hard because on the list of requested meals is spaghetti, homemade pizza, yakisoba (one of hubby's faves from the military), and a cookout featuring hot dogs and brats. I'm going to have to find healthy substitutions or eat less of the higher calorie higher fat (which doesn't really sound appealing). I'm planning my menu now so any suggestions are appreciated!

Well today is officially day one of the healthy living plan. I hate the D word so much. I feel good though, woke up optimistic. I had the eggs, milk, and banana (of course I had to share a tiny bit of each with baby Jackson) and started on my first travel cup of water (it holds 3 glasses +ice). Now I'm eating my lunch of Campbell's chicken curry soup and avocado.

I joined a 5% challenge yesterday that starts today as well. At first I thought, yeah, I can do 5% in a month...but then I realized 5% of 215 is almost 11 lbs and became a little deflated. I read somewhere if you lose more than 1-2lbs a week it is a)unhealthy b)most likely water weight and c)sure to come back. I'm still going to try my best though.

I also joined a no soda challenge--which should be easy because there are a lot of substitutes but I'm going to try to stick with only water and at least 2 liters a day.

Going to take the kiddos to the farmer's market to get some goodies. I want to walk or ride my bike today but it depends on how the baby acts with little to no naps today.

Wonder how often I should weigh myself--Was thinking every day but then I would need to do it in the mornings since my first weigh in was in the mornings and I didn't weigh today. Maybe every other day? Guess I'll see how I feel about it tomorrow.
