fitness for the army update:

requirements:
13 push-ups in 2 minutes
47 sit-ups in 2 minutes
19:42 2 mile run

me:
10 push-ups in 2 minutes
38 sit-ups in 2 minutes
2 mile run TBD

ok the data I entered was the control. I simply set the timer for two minutes and did what I could with no prior training. I think I did pretty well. Before I did work out but I would normally focus on my legs. My core was my second priority. My arms...not so much. Push ups are very difficult for me because of my weak arms! and they are quite bony. But 10 push-ups are not bad for a start.

I did think I would do pretty well for the sit-ups. I almost reached 47 under 2 minutes. But I got really sore. I guess ill work on my core more often now.

so I'm sure you've noticed that I didn't do a control test with the run. that is because I current have no place to run, no treadmill, and no way to tell how far I've gone. However, the college I go to has a track field I could run on and rows of tredmills I could pick from. I was planning to test how far I can run with the equipment they have there when I start school this semester.

Overall, I am pretty happy with my results. and I have a lot of time to improve. This first test is a great motivation for the journey ahead.

so, it's been a while since I've last been on here. I decided to I guess put out there a plan I have.
so I do have many goals for my life and I am working hard toward them. but there is something in the back of my mind like a voice in my head. I kinda really wanna enlist in the army.... there I said it! the only reason why I feel scared to tell anyone is because no one would expect it. I am very quiet and cautious. I don't look like military type. but I have the desire to do the right thing and serve. I am not entirely eligible but I'll get there. The only thing I need to do is meet the fitness standards. For my height, age, and weight here are my requirements:
-13 push ups in 2 minutes
-47 sit ups in 2 minutes
-19:42 two mile run

ya know, this kinda freaks me out. I can probably do the sit ups but run? push ups? mmmm.... but if that is what it takes. I'll do it. I am determined. that's probably easy peesy for some of y'all but it seems like a challenge for me. But if I work hard enough, I can do it!

my last day of nutrition class was yesterday. I am really sat it's now over. I learned so much from that class and really don't want to stop learning from it. I've spend my entire life in school and that's all I remember seeing myself doing. I love to learn and really can't imagine the not-in-school-me. College is challenging but completely worth it for me. Nutrition class being the most worth it!!!! I've learned so much about eating well, avoiding disease, and staying healthy. I've even learned about different food cultures and world environment. I learned about organic farms and ethical companies and compared them to the US food industry and it's companies. I learned about being low impact and reducing waste by being plastic free, recycling, and composting. Damn, I even learned on what to eat/not to eat when pregnant and things to feed your baby!! This class was more than just credits earned, it shaped my future really. I'll go into full adulthood as someone who is aware of her world and has an ultimate goal on healing it. It is such a refreshing feeling. I feel almost renewed and whole. I guess what I mean by all this is I better get an A in the class!

I haven't posted on here in a while. I don't know, it's probably because I've been feeling quite lazy, and tired. On election day, I served as an election judge in my county. It was a long day but very fun. I was the youngest one employed which is what I'm used to but it seems like people like to see younger faces when it comes to politics. They provide food and I was happy to find decently healthy snacks.

Speaking of food, I've been into overnight oats. I would eat warm oatmeal but the overnight oats in my opinion, tastes yummier!!!
So I said I've been really tied lately. It's because I've been working no stop. School takes up virtually all of my time and I dance daily. (VERY exhausting) People keep telling me I should enjoy life and make memories with friends. The thing is, I have no friends and my day is jam packed so I have no room to be hanging out with people. I don't mind working all the time. I am determined to reach my school and career goals. But people tell me I'm just growing too fast and not enjoying the last bit of my youthful years.... oh well. I guess that's what happens when your the youngest where ever you go!
