I ate reasonably well during the week, but definitely over-did it this weekend. Traveling is always my biggest vice--I love munching on fast food on the road. Plus, when I'm in Youngstown, Jay and I like to treat ourselves at a nice restaurant. I don't really regret anything I ate--they were all rarer indulgences. I'm proud of myself for keeping up with my running plan while I was home.

Evil chocolates are gone! Also, had a great run yesterday (I hope I didn't cancel it out with snacking--I ate the last two chocolate truffles, a mug of lite cocoa, and a pudding cup).
I think that my chosen profession may be the best thing to happen to my weight loss. I'm a grazer, so I try to eat small meals throughout the day. Sometimes I forget that small meal =/= constant snacking.
Since I've started student teaching, I don't have the chance to snack on anything from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.--just enough time for a sensible breakfast and lunch. At night, I pass out so early that I sleep through my boredom snacking hour (11 p.m. to midnight). All I have to do is make sure my afternoon snack is filling, but not too high in calories. Today: Kashi Mocha Bar and a bowl of oatmeal.

So far, I'm seeing a pretty steady pattern of loss. Over the weekend, I bought a bag of chocolates thinking that I could snack responsibly. Uh...no. Maybe I'll see my loss speed up once I'm exercising consistently again. And those chocolates are gone.

I really fell off the wagon during winter quarter. I felt so overwhelmed and so sick and I went back to old habits--living on my couch eating whatever I felt like.
I restarted this diet on Monday and have been pretty successful so far (1 lb. down!). I'm trying to stay between 1200 and 1350 calories/day and exercise at least four times a week.
Today, I feel so frustrated. I'm still within my calorie budget AND I got in a two mile run, but I am SO HUNGRY. Part of me wants to cut myself a little slack and have a healthy, filling snack. The rest of me is worried that if I do that, I'll lose any semblance of will power.
Arg.
I'm going to have a cup of tea. If I'm still hungry after that, I'll make some popcorn.
Okay. Having a plan makes things a little better.
