So I saw my cardiologist, who said all cardiologists should understand sugars and carbs... He told me that he would like to see me eat about 75 carbs a day... I was eating about 30 net carbs. I ran this salad I make by him to see if he approved. He did, though he said A little less dressing would be good.
3 cups spring mixed greens
1 ounce chopped onion
1/4 cup kidney beans
1/2 cup organic BLACK soy beans ( 100% made of fiber )
2 ounces chopped ham
1 ounce shredded cheese
2 TBS 1000 Island dressing.... I make my own to get less carbs
I am not a salad guy. But this one is awesome... I think the beans make all the difference. I modify it based on what I have on hand, but basically this is the salad.

NSV today: I was able to cross my legs to tie my shoes on; I didn't have to stand on the steps to tie my sneaker laces!

Not looking forward to Tuesday.... I have my physical at 8 AM..... I have already been told I need a lot of improvement in cholesterol and my diabetes.
Sigh.
My real desire is to eventually get to about 175 pounds, and that clears up the diabetes issues. Down 22ish since the beginning of 2018 holidays. Now about 240.
Was 274 at the start of 2018.

Well, it took 80 pounds, but finally someone noticed that I lost weight. I was getting deli meat, and a young Mexican guy works there. He doesn't speak a lick of English, but he rubbed his belly and gave me a thumbs up. That was nice, finally.
