losing 0.8 lb a week

Barely 10 days on the plant-based, low fat McDougall 'diet' and already seeing some benefits. Not a huge weight loss yet but steady, bodyfat percentage definitely down. Will weigh in again on Friday.
Most importantly, blood pressure is down to a very healthy 99 over 68. I will take that any day! Making some delicious recipes from 'The Starch Solution' and not worrying too much about the calorie count. Keeping track though.
My wife's blood pressure normalized in just a week and she is off her blood pressure medication.
On my speed-play run on Tuesday, I was able to push my maximum heart rate up to 155 quite easily. Just a couple of weeks ago I was struggling to get it close to 150. Feeling good, running well and sleeping 7 hrs plus every night.

I think I may have cut too many calories when I changed from a standard american diet to the mcdougall no fat plant-based plan, about a week ago. Will increase daily intake to around 2,000 instead of closer to 1,500. Too difficult to maintain intake around 1,500 particularly with fairly heavy exercise in hot conditions. On this morning's 10-mile run I felt ok at first but struggled the last 5 miles, leg muscles felt depleted.

losing 4.7 lb a week

Felt rather bloated yesterday which I ascribe to the effects of getting on the McDougall diet which has little to almost no fat, and no animal or dairy products. Essentially a lot of carbs and high in fiber. Which likely explains the bloat. Feeling better this morning, now one week into the 'starch solution'... Got in a good 3-mile run this morning - hot and humid!
