November .... and its parties and socials like crazy! This weekend it was a very good friend of ours birthday party. Needless to say the food was spectacular and the shooters flowed like a river in high season. I was so glad I had my husband seated right next to me ... he took my shots (literally), without anybody noticing. I had to insist on pouring my own drink. Would then add a little lemon juice to my water. It looks great and nobody noticed I was on the water wagon all the time. I had a good helping of salad and left the carbs out. Make the healthy choice! Just want to encourage you all that we can push through the festive season and still enjoy the company of our friends and family. Today is my birthday and last night I dreamt that I ate chocolates like crazy on my birthday. It was a nightmare! It is so important to get people around you that can encourage you and help you through this. I'm so blessed with people that love and support me. There are friends and family that does not always make it easy for me, and I do sometimes feel a bit disappointed that they don't even make an effort. But then again, it is not their journey, but mine.
Strategy for holiday season:

1)Drink loads of water. Even at the braai.
2)Cut out refined carbs
3)Keep snacks like biltong and rice cakes in handbag
4)Up the activity (long walks ect) - Doing x-mas shopping in a big mall :) and park very far away. Take stairs where possible.
