After two weeks of working really hard and participating in my first race ever I thought I was doing pretty good. I hadn't trained hardly at all when I signed up for a 5k. It was dueable. With only two small practices before the run I showed up and discovered that I was registered for the 5 mile. Oh big difference k to m. Well if that is what I signed up for I must have thought I could do it. So I did. I was the last to finish but I did it. Two days later when I weighed in I was only down two pounds. I was almost in tears. I had been earring healthy and working hard. So I wasn't quite convinced by the scale so I checked my bmi and fat percentage. Both were down a full percent. Which means I had really lost 4-5 ponds of fat but gained 3-4 muscle. My work totally paid off. So the next event is a 10k in 8 weeks. I'm sure I will be a bit more ready than I was for the first adventure. My kids love to walk with me. Three of my kids and severally friends have decided to do the 10k with me. Wow what great support. So as I write this feeling the burning in my abs from the last two work outs I know the pain will pay off.
