@Sugar Waffle's post this morning gave me pause. She mentioned a quote that whatever you think is what you attract.

Think about that for a second...

What kind of thoughts do I have? Am I wallowing in self-pity about the many obstacles in my life? Or am I thankful for the good things throughout the day? Am I constantly worrying about this or that, many of which I have no control over? Or am I making a conscientious effort towards making my life better through thinking about and doing things to get to my goals?

What about you? What side of the spectrum are you on?

These are deep questions that require us to be open. It's hard to look at oneself in the mirror and think critically about ourselves, especially when we live in a world where everyone judges. But, doing this will help you control the one thing that is quite possibly, the most power of all....Your Mind!

Some things to think about...

And last but not least...

What are you thankful for today?

Family? Friends? Your ability to make someone smile? The animal(s) you look after? That friend you can always count on rain or shine? Waking up this morning? That blooming flower you've tried so hard to keep alive? The fact that despite all the stress in your life, you STILL keep moving on?

What drives you?

Challenges? Helping others? Artistic ability? Purpose?

Who ARE you?

Forgiving? Loving? Kindhearted? Honest? Authentic? Caring? Understanding? Compassionate? Considerate?

I challenge you today to look beyond the problems staring you in the face and think about how you can leverage your strengths to overcome the difficulties in your life. We all have issues, some more challenging than others, but dwelling on them will only keep us there. Instead, let's talk solutions and use that as a springboard for getting out of the rut.

01 September 2015

First class was a success minus a few hiccups where students accidentally came to the wrong class - oops?! Let me just say this - college students are WAY different than middle school students. Holy moly - these kids were ON FIRE and ready to be here. Even as freshman, many have high aspirations to do great things I was absolutely floored in all honesty. I can't wait to see what this semester brings.

Next week we get to talk about reasons to get involved on campuses and all the different organizations (there are over 300!). Hopefully I'll inspire someone to check out one or two and try it out.

As a side note, bringing candy to class was a great idea but bringing the uneaten pieces back to my desk is NOT! Lol I need to practice SELF-control for sure! I'm pretty proud of myself for not eating one piece yet even though believe you me, I've been tempted!

I hope everyone is having a great week so far! Stay strong!! :)
