Woo-Hoo! For my first "official" weigh-in, I lost a total of 7 pounds! Not bad for 8 days. Okay, now I'm even more motivated than ever. This is not about going on a diet, but changing my diet. All that other processed crap and fast food is gone forever. Cheers!

Day 7 and I'm down two pounds! For those following, my wife won't let us have a sacle in the house. So, I need to sneak a quick peak whenever I find a scale. Today was on a different scale than my first, but I'll gladly take the two pounds. Still following 100%. I took a frozen SBD meal to work for lunch, and for dinner sauteed some chicken breast strips in olive oil, garlic, onion and Tobasco, then added mixed bell peppers, sugar snap pees, and artichoke hearts with a little salt & pepper. It was one of the yummiest dinners I've ever created! Colorful, too! Had some avacado & cherry tomatos in italian dressing on the side.

Getting tired of pork and brocolli... Still 100% faithful after 5 days. Mostly my sugar-free Jell-o flavored nonfat yogurt in the morning (I like the raspberry the best), tuna or salmon salad for lunch, and either grilled pork chops or pork roast nearly every night...that's what I get for shopping at Costco! We'll mix in some chicken and beef next week. I need side dishes that aren't vegetables. I've been snacking, mostly in the afternoon, on mixed nuts, but realize that I need to cut back to no more than a 1/4 cup per day, which is only about 1 handful (I've been eating at least twice that). My wife made a batch of the riccotta cheese chocolate desert from the book which was not bad. I bet topped with some of the raspberry yogurt and frozen it make a great desert. We need to try that. For those of you reading, this is my first time on any kind of diet and I'm having fun with it so far. My goal is to change my eating habits for the better, not just a quick fix. Most habits can be changed after 21 days of new behavior. Web sites like this help me validate my resolve, and putting it out there for everyone to see holds me accountable, even if it's just to my own integrity. Thank you to you my dieting, life-bettering comrads who offer your quick notes of support. They are very helpful, and I support you in return. Cheers!

Day 3 and still 100% loyal to the diet. It's been pretty easy. A little hungry, but nothing I can't live with. Listening to the wife complain is the hardest. She's not adjusting as well and misses her comfort and convenience foods. I've put together a good lunch item: A bed of romaine lettuce and baby spinach topped with a can of tuna or salmon (packed in water) sprinkled with graded lowfat mozzarella cheese, cashews and either Phase 1 friendly Italian or Ranch dressing (Kraft makes them in there South Beach Diet line). Tastes better than in sounds, and is pretty filling. I tried a can of white crab meat today. I won't do that again. Stick to the tuna or salmon.

Oops! I guessed at my weight when I set-up my account. I actually weighed myself today and came in at 193 lbs. I guess I have a little more work to do...! Today was day 1 of the diet. So far, so good.
