You learn a lot from having a lapband. God knows I have. I know my limits and what does and doesn't go down and to tell you the truth I don't miss fatty foods, I can sit at a table and people feeling sorry for me that I can't eat a certain thing but they don't have to feel sorry for me. No need. Yep I do miss an occasional steak, chips etc, but it's not the focal point in my life. I have never felt better. When the lapband was put in my weight had ballooned to 99.8kilos. I'm now 70.7kilos and feel great. They only thing I wish for is people whom have only known me as fat to leave remarks alone about how much weight I have lost, threatening to call my surgeon is the pinnacle of rudeness. So take it from me it's not as easy as you think and it seems people can't help themselves, but you know what it's about how happy you are in your skin. I know I don't need to loose any more and I am a different person, happier and more confident. It has been my struggle my whole life and now the struggle hasn't finished, the maintenance of my weight will now be the most important thing, I did it for me, myself and I. That's why it has worked.

It has been a year since I got the lapband and am now almost on my goalweight. Size 10 jeans, going towards size 8 and a size 12 to 14 top. Am so happy. It's not as easy as people think. Can't eat a lot of my favourite food but have discovered ways to still indulge once in a while, a bit of chocolate and a bit of pizza (usually 1 ever 6 months a small piece) it's just for the taste of things. Yep I'm restricted but I can walk into a shop now and grab a nice top or pair of pants of the rack. I have a new found confidence and bounce in my step. It's amazing the transformation from being unhealthy and overweight with a 32.5 BMI to a 23 BMI and a healthy weight. Not as tired, can now jump out of bed instead of dragging myself. The only down side now is that certain male friends now find me attractive, but didn't thinks so before I was slim. How shallow are they. But I'm happy with myself and I can now look in a mirror and like what I see.

Getting so close now. Had a frustrating couple of days, lapband didn't like my food intake. Well I have to admit I ate too fast and didn't chew right. So made myself some beautiful chicken and corn soup....man am I addicted to that stuff or what...love it. The easiest home made soup ever and perfect for winter.
So basically 4 kilos to go. Even that little black dress your looking at in my profile pic is now getting a bit loose on me. Feels so good. Hard to believe I was almost 100 kilos this time last year. So hard to believe. And the best news? My ex has gained all the weight back he lost when he met the girlfriend now his wife and she has massively ballooned. And he used to call me fat! No it's now called KARMA.:) Happy tidings folks.
