I'm feeling a bit confused and frustrated right now. About a month ago I was sent to see an Orthopedic for shoulder pain and issues with certain positions of the arm/shoulder. The doctor gave me cortisone shots and told me not to lift anything or pull down anything from above my head that weighs more than a water bottle. I am scheduled to go back for a follow-up at the end of February. I have done my best to listen to the doctor however I am finding it increasing hard to find exercises that will work my triceps, shoulder and back that do not require above or over the head pushing/pulling. I end up spending most of my time working my lower body and that can lead to over-training. My companion was telling me last night he is concerned that I will reach burnout mode....I am. I am burned out on feeling so limited at a time when I am fully motivated and willing to push and go through the burn and recovery. I find myself feeling like I am not giving my best and end up restless and feeling depressed when I leave the gym. I am walking the line between doing what is healthy for my shoulder and trying to do what is good for my overall health. *sigh* I thought I might feel better after venting....thanks for reading.
