I am having the hardest time of it!!! Slowly climbing up and then I'll have another 10 lbs. to loose!! This is insanity it has to stop. My blood sugar was high this morning and don't feel good. This is a terrible cycle and I'm having a hard time getting off. I know because of my blood sugar being border line, I need to be on Atkins diet, just can't seem to stay on it. I wish there was a better solution but don't see one. I have grown kids that have moved back home temporarly and having to cook all the time for a crowd (and cheaply too). I don't know about everyone else, but I live in a rural area and our groceries have doubled in price!! I need to quit with the excuses and just do it! Help!! I needed to say all this to help motivate myself. I need to be around for my children and grandchildren!!

If your children are grown they should be cooking for themselves. LOL, even if its just a tv dinner. You need to convince yourself this is a lifestyle change. You need to ignore all the bad food out there, just pretend it isn't even there for you. This diet WILL work, if you give it a chance. Just say NO to anything white basically. Here are some really good recipe sites you can search for low carb. allrecipes.com, recipezaar.com, myrecipes.com. Low carbing isn't all bad. This morning I found a new recipe for breakfast besides eggs. Its not for induction however. 1/2 cup cottage cheese, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp splenda, and about 6 or 7 toasted pecans. It was Delish. Hope i've helped you out of your rut. I'm not trying to be rude. Have a good one and goodluck.

I live in a rural area and I buy a lot in bulk. Cook the good stuff that you need to eat and add some carbs on the side for everyone else. If you're the cook, they'll eat what you cook. You can do it, just get organized. Let me know if I can help.

At my house, and I learned it from my Mom, "if you don't like what's for dinner, you get to cook tomorrow" I try to buy in bulk, plan meals, etc. I fix what I need for dinner, usually a beef or chicken something with a steamed veggie or salad. If my husband requires anything else, he knows where the kitchen is......So far he eats everything I do and only adds bread or a baked potatoe.
